Nearby Airports to Jefferson County, West Virginia

Several airports provide Jefferson County with non-stop service to most United States cities and to many international destinations. In addition to commercial flights, the region’s airports provide businesses with round-the-clock cargo flights, material-handling services, and warehousing.

National Commercial Airports
Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) is located less than 90 minutes away via US-340, WV-9, and VA-7 in Arlington, VA, just across the Potomac River from the nation’s capital. Reagan National offers nonstop service to destinations within 1,250 miles of Washington, DC, daily nonstop flights to 74 United States cities, and direct service to three Canadian cities on 12 domestic airlines. General aviation services are also available.

International Commercial Airports
Dulles International Airport (IAD) is just 40 miles away via VA-9 in Chantilly, Virginia. Dulles offers daily nonstop service to 88 United States cities and direct service to 42 foreign cities on 23 international airlines. Twenty-three carriers offer air cargo service in addition to commercial air service. Dulles Airport is in Foreign Trade Zone #137 and offers materials handling and warehousing services in 540,000 sqft of operations space.

Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI-Marshall) is located 60 miles to the east along US-340. Baltimore International serves 40 passenger and cargo airlines. Non-stop commercial flights to 69 domestic and 10 international destinations are offered daily.

General Aviation Airports
Eastern West Virginia Regional Airport (EWVRA) is located only 12 miles northwest of Jefferson County. It occupies 1,015 acres and can accommodate 747 or C-5 class planes. The airport also has 8,815 feet of runway, a full instrument landing system, and 24-hour aircraft rescue and firefighting service provided by the West Virginia Air National Guard. The 167th Airlift Wing of the West Virginia Air Guard operates its C-17 Globemaster III aircraft program from this facility.
